Salary: GBP28,000 to GBP36,000

We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Business Analyst to join the Life & Pensions team in Edinburgh.

The main purpose is to take ownership and responsibility for delivering detailed business designs, processes and functionality, that support the business needs to the agreed time-scales and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for understanding, analysing and interpreting business requirements and needs.
  • Identify appropriate, effective and efficient solutions that ensure a consistent approach across the group.
  • Be visible within the business and use personal influence to gain buy in from project team and key stakeholders.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for developing and delivering the detailed business requirements to support the solution.
  • Deliver requirements and artefacts to a high quality standard and follow best practice.
  • Ensure requirements are appropriately challenged with the benefits and success criteria agreed and signed off by the business stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively within project to ensure solution is clear and development meets business requirements.
  • Support the development & test teams, and business readiness areas, to ensure project implements successfully.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous business analyst experience within complex change environment required. Good knowledge and understanding of financial services is desirable.
  • Experience required in eliciting, prioritising and managing of requirements, and able to use variety of techniques and artefacts to engage with business and get to the real business need.
  • Proven track record of building successful relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work on own or collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proven track record of demonstrating initiative and coming up with innovative ideas.
  • Ability to clearly demonstrate understanding of the project life cycle and where business analyst should be involved.
  • Delivery focused, able to turns decisions into reality.
  • Flexibility, willing to adapt thinking and behaviour to suit the requirements of different situations.
  • Independence, prepared to raise issues in the face of opposition. Able to stand up for your ideas, and influence or challenge when necessary.
