About the role

We have an exciting new opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our accounts team based in Loughborough. The team assist in the financial management, reporting and control of our twelve dealerships and five franchises, producing the management accounts, ensuring the balance sheet is fully reconciled and that the manufacturer composites are submitted on time.

A key aspect of the role is to provide accounting assistance to the dealerships on a daily basis including review of the departmental profit and loss with the dealership management team, resolving any queries and assisting the Accountant to ensure the dealership complies with our internal controls and processes. In this regard, you will play an important role in supporting the profitability of the dealerships and will proactively look for ways to further develop the business.

Ideally you will have had experience in an accounts role in the retail automotive sector, and will be pursuing or have achieved an accountancy qualification (e.g. AAT, CIMA or ACCA). You will be able to work under pressure, have good organisational skills, demonstrate attention to detail and be able to work within strict deadlines. A proficient knowledge of excel is essential and previous experience of CDK Autoline (Kerridge) would be an advantage. You will be able to work in a team as well as on your own initiative, and be able to communicate at all levels. The successful candidate must also hold a full clean driving licence as travel to our various dealerships in the East Midlands will be required. Sandicliffe has a strong commitment to internal development so study support will be provided for those currently studying towards an accountancy qualification.

Ideal candidate

o Previous motor retail accounting background is preferable where possible
o AAT / CIMA / ACCA studying or qualification, or experience in a similar position
o Excel knowledge to an advanced level
o Organised, numerate, calm under pressure, good communicator
