Community Support Worker

We are looking for support workers with or without caring experience to assist a lovely, cognitively aware young lady aged 18 years with 24 hour care at home. She lives in Skelmersdale with her mother in their lovely & specially adapted house.
She is currently supported by an NHS Children’s Team and we have been awarded the support contract to support her through into adulthood.
She is a ventilated person with a tracheostomy, she requires feeding and some medications via a gastrostomy. She requires suction to her tracheostomy.
She needs hoisting into a wheelchair as she cannot mobilise unassisted. She needs careful handling due to fragile bones and being at risk of fractures.
We are looking to recruit 6 x Community Support Workers (35 hrs contracts) to complete her team Shift patterns cover 24/7 so will consist of early/late/night shift – rotating on all three patterns.
The CSW’s undertake a comprehensive induction and mandatory training program and are then supervised by a qualified Paediatric Nurse/ Clinical Lead and are trained and assessed as competent and confident in the following skills:
- Pediatric and adult Basic Life Support including bag and mask resuscitation
- Care of the ventilated child
- Tracheostomy care
- Oxygen Therapy and Oxygen saturation monitoring
- Medication management
- Gastrostomy care and pump assisted feeding.
- Manual handling
- Infection Control
All support workers receive regular clinical supervision by the Care Coordinators and the Allocated Nurse.
Pay rates - £8.00 – £9.75 phr
