North Devon Against Domestic Abuse (NDADA) is a registered charity and their free service covers Northern Devon providing refuge to those who are fleeing in crisis due to Domestic Abuse and need a safe place to begin their move on after leaving an abusive relationship.  The Refuge is a purpose built property that offers support services for families and single women.

There are eight rooms and they can offer 25 bed spaces in total, residents have their own room which they share with their children and the rest of the living is communal . As part of the support here there is a Women's support worker, a Family intervention worker and a playroom assistant.  A  manager and administrator are also based at the Refuge.

The aim of Refuge is to provide a safe place from where the workers can develop with the resident a personalised plan to support individual families.  In an exciting innovative project NDADA has won five years' funding to employ a qualified Mental Health Practitioner to work with its clients who are based in refuge and others receiving support across the organisation.   This will include direct work with the client and developing Pathways into statutory and voluntary services to ensure the best support is achieved for clients presenting with complex Mental Health needs.  You will work as part of a team of Domestic Abuse Specialists to provide the best therapeutic and holistic support for our service users.  The right person should have a keen interest in current and historic family dynamics and a professional mental health qualification, social work degree or equivalent.

A full driving licence with access to a vehicle is essential and the role will require an enhanced DBS check.
