Fixed Term Contract for 12 months (Maternity Cover)

Full Time 37 hours per week

£20,540 per annum

Ocean Housing Group owns, manages and maintains approximately 5,000 residential properties throughout Cornwall.  It has a diverse range of activities within the three companies that make up the Ocean Group.  One of the companies, Ocean Housing Group Ltd is looking to recruit a Payroll Officer to join their Finance Team on a Fixed Term basis for 12 month to cover Maternity Leave.   

You will be responsible for processing payroll for all companies with the Group working closely with the HR team to ensure the accuracy of information. In addition you will be responsible for all payroll operations ensuring timely entry in line with company policy and HM Revenue and Customs requirements. As the Payroll officer you will be responsible for ensuring other payroll matters are completed which include maintaining all group pension schemes, provide support and guidance to new pension scheme joiners, reconciling tax year end information and providing HMRC with all the information as required, preparing P11D schedules for all employees and maintaining a good working knowledge of payroll legislation.

In addition the Payroll Officer will work closely with the Groups finance team in maintaining the Ledgers of the companies in the Group, supporting with the compiling of the Company's Annual Report providing relevant payroll information and the production of management accounts and reports.

It is essential you are educated to GCSE Grade A-C or equivalent level 2 in Maths and English and have working knowledge of a finance environment and working on Payroll. You will also have good working knowledge of IT applications including spreadsheets and have good numeracy and administrative skills. It is desirable but not essential that you are AAT part-qualified or hold an equivalent Payroll qualification.
