An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Social Worker to join a well-established private hospital that specialises in providing the highest quality of service to people with longstanding mental health problems. Based in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, the successful Social Worker will join the multidisciplinary team of consultants to earn a negotiable salary, depending on experience. 

The hospital service has 25 in-patient beds designated restricted access or locked rehabilitation. It provides care and treatment for the full spectrum of mental health illness with all patients being funded by the NHS. As a Social Worker your main duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
  • Assessing, counselling and offering advice to clients
  • Arranging appropriate care, resources or benefits
  • Liaison with relatives, colleagues and other professionals
  • Report writing
  • Budgetary and managerial administration
  • Attending or contributing towards court cases

To be considered for the Social Worker position you must be qualified and have developed therapeutic skills in working with patients effected by mental health difficulties. The successful candidate will be joining a Multidisciplinary Team of Consultant Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Art Therapist, Nurses, Clinical Psychologist, Assistant Psychologists and support workers. The successful candidate will be undertaking individual work with patients as required. An interest in undertaking MBT Training is required. In addition, you must possess the following key skills and experience:
  • A degree in Social Work
  • Registration with HCPC
  • Has developed therapeutic skill in one or more therapeutic model
  • Expert knowledge and experience of housing legislation and policy
  • Experience of working with people with mental health difficulties
  • Experience of facilitating hospital discharges and transfers of care
  • Experience of negotiating patient centre outcomes with providers of care
  • Working knowledge of Social Care and mental health knowledge policy and guidance
  • High level of emotional intelligence
  • Excellent communication skills and team working skills
