Customer Manager responsible for managing & growing current business, & driving new, for our client’s Global brands into UK Multiple Retailers. Core focus initially will be on the Dream Brand.

Our client has strong ambitions to grow in the speciality sector and have an exciting brand pipeline for 2017 and beyond. Individual in this role will take lead responsibility in bringing those plans to life in terms of retail listings & distribution, working collaboratively with customers and internal stakeholders alike.

This role is autonomous, looking after strategically important Brands, that we plan to grow into a separate Business Unit type structure.

Key Accountabilities include

  • Customer contact & management 35%
  • Forecasting 5%
  • Management of supply / production, working with HDG stakeholders & Customer 25%
  • Liaison & meetings with cross functional colleagues, eg Marketing, other Sales team 20%
  • New business development. NPD, Customer & Market 15%

Education and capabilities

  • Degree preferable.
  • Min 7 years in FMCG Sales
  • Some experience of Marketing
  • Experience of Retail sales – Essential. We look for candidate who has at some point managed all of the top 4. Experience with Sainsbury’s highly desirable.
  • Understanding of retailer reporting systems – essential.
  • Understanding of successfully JBPs / Retailer agreements – essential.

Must have experience of either;

  • Speciality, eg Gluten Free

Additional Info

  • Able to accommodate travel both within UK (multi site) & EU.
  • Must be able to support 1-2 days a week at Cambridge office plus meetings with Retail Customers.
  • Must have prior experience of both –
  • UK Multiple Retail Sales at NAM level
  • Non Dairy Beverages or Speciality

Must be able to work at all levels, ie senior management to administrative. Role will require certain level of acumen & gravitas in working with Retail customers & senior management of affiliated businesses.
