An exciting opportunity has arisen to make a significant contribution to the ongoing development and management of the Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service’s operational estate.

Our client is recruiting for an experienced Estate Manager who will manage the whole of Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service’s (NFRS) property portfolio dealing with the planned maintenance, reactive maintenance and minor new works to keep the fire service’s estate and facilities operational 24/7.

The successful candidate will need strong contract management and people skills as well as the ability to develop and implement estates policy, procedures and plans.
Position Summary;
As Estates Manager you will need strong contract management and people skills as well as the ability to develop and implement estates policy, procedures and plans.
You will be required to;

• Be the single point of contact for the NFRS estates management including all planned maintenance, reactive maintenance and minor new works
• Work autonomously and under your own initiative to provide an effective estates and facilities management service within NFRS
• Be the budget holder / manager covering maintenance, repair, minor works and services contracts with values up to an annual contract value of circa £500,000 (per contract) and any other delegated budget as required
• Identify develop and write NFRS policy and procedures with regards to the management of the NFRS Estate
• Represent the interests of NFRS at local, regional and national meetings, committees and forums for estates and facilities management

So who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will hold the required skills and experience to thrive within this role, which will include:
• Formal degree / qualification or equivalent in an estates, construction or facilities profession or HND level qualification or equivalent with recent experience in estates, construction or facilities role is essential
• Experience managing budgets & contracts for outsourced work, services and suppliers
• Drafting and technical specifications experience
• Relevant experience working within an autonomous role within the industry and trakc record of line management of staff
• Member of recognised estates, construction or facilities related body is desirable
• Ability to prioritise workloads and communicate effectively
• Excellent understanding of the application of statutory requirements related to estate and contract management
• Eager to learn individual, willing to undertake any training required
