Established in 1997, our client is a family run not-for-profit organisation whose sole purpose is ‘to provide residential and supported accommodation services for homeless people or people with little or no housing choice’.  They employ a committed workforce of 120 members of staff, who provide a broad range of residential and social care services designed to meet the diverse needs of over 300 vulnerable men, women, children and young people across Merseyside.

A number of opportunities have now arisen for Residential Childcare Workers to join them in Merseyside; there are full time, part time and casual positions available.

Within this role you will act as an agent for change to help children and young people with challenging issues; dealing with their past and building towards a safe, bright and positive future.  This will be achieved through providing the highest possible standards of direct day-to-day therapeutic residential childcare to vulnerable children and young people working in an effective and cooperative manner within a team environment.

You will have an in-depth understanding and knowledge of child development and the ability to work effectively with the challenging needs and behaviours of children and young people within a residential childcare setting.

An ability to communicate clearly and effectively with young people in crisis is important and you will have the determination to support them to re-engage with education and/or community living.

It is essential that candidates have an NVQ/Diploma to Level 3 standards in Children and Young People or an equivalent qualification.

A full UK driving licence is also essential and candidates must have the ability to work 24-hour shifts (inclusive of sleep-ins) including weekends and bank holidays.
