Our Client is the leading design and manufacturer of  off road vehicles used in the construction Industry

The Job - Product Development Engineer (New position)

Reporting to the Design Project Manager and working closely with design engineers the successful candidate will be required to work within our engineering workshop where they will build new or modify vehicles and test rigs prior to conducting a variety of proving tests either on site or other locations as required.

Knowledge of vehicle systems is essential especially hydraulic and electrical together with previous experience of working on construction and/or agricultural machinery in a similar, service or maintenance role. Knowledge and / or practical use of commonly used vehicle test equipment are preferred but training is available where necessary.

This job carries a responsibility to ensure all aspects of health and safety are considered and that on completion of all tests results are analysed and presented for discussion. For this reason good communication together with PC skills are essential.

Candidates will need to have completed an apprenticeship or training and be educated to at least HND level in mechanical or agricultural engineering.

The remuneration package

This vacancy is a permanent staff position offering a starting salary between £28k to £32k depending on experience plus paid overtime and profit sharing bonus. A company pension plan and employee health care scheme is available after a qualifying period. The normal working week is 38 hour, Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-12pm, with 33 days annual holiday entitlement including bank holidays.
