Learning Facilitator

Hours: 30 hours per week, 40/41 weeks per year

Salary: GBP18,385 - GBP20,428 pro rata

Job purpose

To deliver high quality student focused support to facilitate independent learning and use of ILT.

Duties and responsibilities

Specific

  1. Plan and deliver Inductions and Information & Study Skills sessions in collaboration with the teaching staff and the Library staff.
  2. Provide support to students and staff in the use of a range of standard software applications in accordance with the e-Learning and ILT Strategies.
  3. Supervise group and individual learning activities.
  4. Conduct agreed range of tasks and responsibilities to support overall Library Team objectives with strong focus on developing literacy and numeracy at various levels.
  5. Provide support to students and staff in the use of a range of electronic resources and course related software packages.
  6. Promote the use of VLE (Moodle), Library website and electronic resources to enhance independent learning.
  7. Create guides and learning materials, both electronic and paper-based.
  8. Carry out processes relating to the Library daily operations: use of LMS 'Heritage', locating relevant resources, support enquiry service etc.
  9. Maintain student discipline, ensure environment conducive to learning and lead a courteous and efficient service to all Library users.
  10. To contribute to the 'learning culture' of the Library by proactively seeking and being prepared to participate in staff training and development activities.
  11. To take responsibility for her/his personal development as a member of the College Library staff.
  12. The post holder may be required to perform duties other than those given in the job description for this post.
