The company client is a growing Financial Services business who are actively seeking to recruit a Senior Operational Risk Manager FS for their vibrant team based in Dublin. The job holder will be accountable for proactive oversight of the Group Operational Risk Framework, and operates as a second line function within a three lines of defence model. Specifically, the Operational Risk Team are responsible for the development of operational risk management frameworks, providing operational risk advice and guidance, setting common standards, tools and methodologies for management of operational risk.

Job summary:

* Operational Risk is a key element in a fast moving and evolving regulatory environment.
* The Senior Operational Risk Manager will have a proven track record in leading the development and implementation of operational risk management frameworks, reporting, tools and processes. This responsibility will include liaising with all divisions and jurisdictions, including senior members of the Group.

Major responsibilities will include as follows:

* Reporting to the Head of Risk Frameworks
* Lead the establishment, design and implementation of risk management frameworks, policies, processes and tools.
* Define and lead the governance of operational risk frameworks and risk measurement and reporting methodologies.
* Engage and educate Group Divisions across all jurisdictions to implement and embed the operational risk frameworks and tools.
* Develop, design and oversee risk reporting, measurement, and scenario analysis
* Conduct top down and bottom up risk assessments and facilitate review sessions.
* Lead in the development of standards, governance, policy and procedures.
* Develop programmes to implement the Group`s Operational Risk strategy including ensuring appropriate standards for policies and procedures.
* Lead, coach and develop a team of technical and professional staff, including providing direction and guidance on day to day responsibilities.
* Significantly influence and educate key senior stakeholders; delivery via the flexing of a proven ability to identify and maximise key enabling opportunities which add incremental value to the business experience and internal relationships
* Act as a representative of the Operational Risk and GRCOR department, and its Senior Leadership to the highest standards of professionalism.
* Operate to a dynamic agenda, under tight timelines but maintaining very high standards of quality and output.

Qualifications, knowledge and skills required:

* Comprehensive knowledge of operational risk frameworks, risk methodologies, tools and practices and business processes.
* Knowledge and practical experience in operational risk framework sub-risks including for example Business Continuity, Fraud Risk, Information Security, Sourcing Risk, Incident Management, IT Risk, Payments Risk.
* Knowledge of operational risk framework processes, including Loss Events Management, Risk Appetite, Scenario Analysis, Risk Assessments, Risk Reporting.
* 5+ years` work experience, of which the majority of this time should be in similar role and or working in a risk management environment.
* Relevant academic qualifications and business experience
* Ability to influence stakeholders at various levels within the organization effectively
* Technical up to date knowledge of regulatory and industry guidelines for risk management and mitigation within financial services
* Exceptionally strong interpersonal skills
* Proven experience in leading, managing and developing a team of risk experts. Strong communications skills, proven ability to work effectively with and influence the actions of stakeholders at all levels. Proven strong analytical skills
* An ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
* Exceptional organisational and time management skills
* Proven leadership in engaging and influencing stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of planned activities. Confident, articulate and independent minded approach.
* Excellent Microsoft Office skills in order to produce reports, presentations to high quality

Additional desirable skills:

* Ability to provide intellectual rigour to operational risk frameworks, standards and methodologies
