Person Specification
We are looking for a self-assured graduate who has previous experience working in a school and an impressive academic record and a 2:1 or better in your degree, ideally within English, Maths or Science. The Headteacher wants to recruit a graduate with an impressive string of academic achievements which can be looked up to by pupils and fellow teaching staff. The school wants to recruit someone who has the confidence in themselves to happily and calmly deal with challenging situations that may crop up in this KS4 Graduate Teaching Assistant role.

About the Role
The SLT are happy to provide mentors for all support staff, and yours will be a talented Senior Teacher who can inspire graduates new to teaching through gentle encouragement and by setting a great example of how teaching ought to be done. An ongoing task during your placement will be to support the teacher in planning and preparing lessons, contributing innovative and fresh ideas to further drive engagement and attainment. In general, you will be working hard from day one to develop and improve your teaching, you will be able to draw on the advice and input of a dedicated mentor who will be an experienced member of the existing teaching staff. Your responsibilities will include working towards the Outstanding accreditation by starting your training early through this school's CPD plan.

The School
This well-facilitated secondary school is in a rural location, so own transport is essential. The school has made some great progress and now see themselves as 'Outstanding'; the whole faculty are awaiting the next Ofsted inspection so they can make this official.
