Toucan Recruitment are no seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a well known and established steel company based in Newport where you will be reporting to the Hot strip mill Engineer. The role will be to carry out the electrical maintenance duties to ensure the continuous rolling of Hot Strip Mill. The ideal candidate will be a flexible worker and have experience within the steel industry carrying out a similar post previously.
The Role will Include:
* Carrying out electrical plant isolation
* Carrying out high voltage switching
* Fault location and repair of plant electrical systems
* PLC Interrogation
* Write reports as deemed necessary
* Fault location and repair of A.C. Drives, A.C. wound rotor motors, D.C. Drive and their respective control systems, Closed loop control systems
Essential Skills
* Experience within a hot mill - Steel industry is essential
* Experience of high voltage
* 1 year + experience of working as a electrical engineer previously
* Electrical Engineering Qualification - HNC/ NVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds Level 3
* 16th Edition familiarity
* Test and Inspection experience
* Plant Machine maintenance
