Service Technician - Amazon - Hemel Hempstead

Amazon, as the fastest growing online company in the world and are looking for highly skilled, dynamic and flexible maintenance engineers to assist in the expansion of our Fulfillment Centre Engineering team in Hemel Hempstead.
A vital part of our mission to satisfy customers worldwide, is our network of state-of-the-art, high tech' automated fulfillment centres. Here you will find PLC controlled equipment ranging from conveyors, automated cranes and sortation machinery, to robotic pick-and-place machinery and Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems to work on, maintain, and continuously upgrade. Sounds interesting, right?
No two days are the same with us at Amazon and this is a superb opportunity for you, as a qualified, flexible and enthusiastic maintenance engineer to implement your skills and knowledge while adding new ones working on a variety of automated machinery.
Our sites are operational 24/7, 365 days a year to serve our customer obsession. As such in this role you will work a 12 hour shift pattern including both days, nights and weekends. To compensate for your expertise, skillset, and effort you will be rewarded with competitive benefits package; not to mention the natural career opportunities and development that appear within a company experiencing year on year growth of 30%!
To be considered for this position you must possess the following desirable characteristics -
* An ONC, OND, HNC, HND Qualification or a Full Engineering Apprenticeship to a minimum of NVQ level 3
* Extremely high levels of H&S awareness and application
* A passion for Continuous Improvement
* Able to fault find on electrical/pneumatic systems and motor controllers/inverters
* Experience of Planned Preventative Maintenance and high pressure reactive breakdown maintenance
* PLC fault finding knowledge is advantageous
* Experience of automated FMCG, automotive, manufacturing, or production environments is highly desirable
