Our Client is an International Civil Engineering Company who place a strong emphasis on performance, quality and teamwork ensuring client satisfaction. As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be required to work and provide commercial expertise to aid with the delivery of the contracted work by taking the responsibility of commercial lead on a number of Utility projects including reinstatement works in the North East area.
The project is worth 25 million pounds and will last a minimum of 18 months , This would be working on Bespoke terms and conditions
This is a major multidisciplinary project. You will be involved in all aspects of the projects lifecycle and pushing the project forward. Aspects of your role will include:
• Build a close relationship with delivery manager to ensure the goals for the distribution area are fully met, assisting the operations team with their customer relationship
• Maintain and coordinate all commercial reports required for the successful commercial management of the contract
• Ensure compliance with the business delaps and contract process maps
• Preparation of the forecasting and reporting of costs against value to ensure that it is in line with the contract profitability forecast
• Place subcontracts in accordance with the main contract
• Ensure all subcontract issues are resolved, deferring to the commercial manager where appropriate
• Ensures compliance with all contractual requirements, provide support and training on both the contract and the schedule of rates to maximise value recovery
• Management of subcontract accounts including interrogation, procurement, payments, variations and final accounts
• Coordinate change control and risk processes including identifying, raising and pricing early warnings in line with the change control and customer sign off process, ensuring contractual entitlement and adherence to contractual timescales
• Obtain maximum recovery through accurate measurement of the works completed
• Provide key information across the contract team
As the ideal candidate you will have the following qualifications and be able to demonstrate the following experience:
• Degree qualified Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar;
• A driven, self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work on your own initiative;
• A team player with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people at all levels;
• Ability to analyse drawings and designs;
• Ability to interpret and monitor programs against contractual period for completion dates;
• An understanding of contractual arrangements;
• Full UK driving license.
• Good attention to detail;
• Good communication skills;
• Good organisational skills;
• Ideally experience within a rail, construction or engineering environment;
• I.T. skills with particular competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Sage also preferable);
• SMSTS
