A friendly and community focused school in Portsmouth is looking to recruit a dedicated Teaching assistant to support on a one to one basis with fine of their pupils who has cerebral palsy.

The successful LSA will have worked supporting children in key stage one and two and have experience with cerebral palsy, ODD (Opposition defiance disorder) with some emotional behavioural difficulties.

The role is a part time role, you will be expected to work on Wednesday PM's and Thursday and Friday full days. Initially the role will be for the remainder of the summer term, with the view of the contact turning in to a permanent role.

Successful SEN Teaching assistant will:

* Help to support the child on a one to one basis across all areas of their curriculum
* Have previously worked with children experiencing Cerebral Palsy
* Assist the teacher with the preparation of the learning environment
* On occasion, carry out activities to support your one to one work or the teachers planning
* Able to build rapport and liaise comfortably with pupils, parents and staff members
* Maintain pupils learning journals, ensure they are filled out neatly and are up to date
* Uphold the rules of the school / classroom as per the school behavioural policy
* Become an extension of the teacher and create an outstanding learning environment for the child in your care for the rest of the academic year
* Be required to help with any administration tasks that the role may incur.
