Cloud Datacentre Security Technical Sales Specialist

Job Description

This is a commissioned pre-sales position responsible for technically evangelizing and winning datacentre and infrastructure architectures with leading Regional Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) present in EMEA by offering compelling and cohesive technical solutions based on Intel platforms. The Industry Technical Specialist (ITS) position requires a thorough understanding of the CSP business, the solution stacks being deployed and the technical challenges. They should be able to demonstrate how these can be solved through the innovative use of Intel-based solutions. The ITS must manage deep ongoing technical engagements to ensure Intel-based building blocks and components are the preferred architecture to host customer workloads and ensure these workloads are optimised to deliver the best experience on Intel.

Qualifications

The ITS should be capable of: building strong, direct relationships with senior technical contacts, including Solution Architects and Technologists, comprehend Intel architectures and partner solution offerings targeted at cloud service provider infrastructure. They should be able to strongly position themselves and Intel as the trusted advisor in solving challenging technical and business problems. This person must also be self-motivated, self-sufficient with ability to stay current on emerging industry trends, technologies, and issues. Relevant industry technical experience with strong knowledge of current technical solutions would be desirable. This person must be comfortable working at senior levels within Intel and within their customer and have demonstrated the ability to identify and drive customer requirements & market needs into actionable goals.

You must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or SW Engineering and relevant industry experience. Additional qualifications include:

- Excellent understanding of IaaS and virtualization service orientated architecture designed around the delivery and security of Infrastructure components as a service;
- Strong analytical, diagnostics and troubleshooting skills - ability to solve complex problems at scale;
- Expertise in application, infrastructure and network security, along with penetration testing;
- Performance Management, software engineering, system administration, systems engineering, network engineering;
- Experience selling Cloud Solutions - Public, Private, Hybrid. Knowledge of Software-Defined Infrastructure Solutions for Compute, Storage, Networking. Familiar with Automation and Orchestration technologies and tools, DevOps, PaaS, Containers/Microservices spanning Multiple Cloud Operating Environments (VMware, OpenStack, Microsoft, Public Cloud) and other open source initiatives (OpenDaylight, CEPH / distributed storage SW, SNAP / cloud telemetry tools etc.)
- Deep and broad understanding of services and architecture required to build secure Cloud computing platforms.
- Familiarity with industry compliance and security standards including PCI DSS, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and NIST/DoD frameworks.
- Experience advising customers on architectures meeting industry standards

Additional Requirements

The successful candidate should possess well practiced presentation skills and the ability to understand, specify and communicate requirements. Have the ability to work in a highly ambiguous environment and to achieve high quality results. Have the knowledge of and the motivation to engage with and build productive relationships with key eco-system partners. Be open to travel up to 25% of the time.
