Business Analyst (Retail / Commercial Transformation)

To enable us to reach our goal we have created a Transformation team within our Commercial Trading function to implement a whole new commercial operating model plus other projects, this gives the opportunity for a dynamic and talented Business Analyst to join the team.
This opportunity could be offered as a permanent role or FTC.
Whilst providing key reporting and insight will be a big focus in the role, as the Business Analyst, you will be mapping "as is" to identify and drive solutions which will help ensure the programme design aligns to its original objects to deliver success. This opportunity will give you the chance to be involved in projects from initial design right through to implementation and will involve you working across the whole organisation. As the Business Analyst your main responsibilities will include:
Writing process definition documents along with training material, describing the new processes that align to the process map.
Designing and developing a UAT (User Acceptance Testing) strategy and plan.
Development of transition plans for implementation of solutions into the business.
Creation and verification of cost benefit cases for nominated projects as well as carrying out or assisting with Risk Analysis.
Providing a support service to business areas which will ensure that development projects are implemented correctly to maximise the agreed benefits.
Knowledge transfer from our 3rd party suppliers to Argos for the functional elements of system design.
Providing input to the selection of new tool-sets as required, both for IS development and business use.
Developing a good understand of business systems architecture.
To be successful in this role we ask that you have:
Strong working knowledge of the complete MS Office package, with a focus on Project and Visio.
Demonstrable experience in a relevant analytical role, ideally within retail, or business function such as Commercial Trading (Buying or Merchandising).
A good understanding of the techniques and technical architecture involved in systems development.
Process modelling experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deal with all levels and influence as necessary.
An analytic approach to problem solving and a lateral thinker.
Experience of identifying challenging processes and delivering best in class solutions.
A willingness to challenge business proposals/decisions whilst offering your own opinions.
Previous experience of working with systems such as Oracle or similar as well as having formal training in analysis and design methodologies, such as Data modelling and Entity Lifecycle, would be highly desirable.
Lean / Six Sigma (ideally Black Belt qualified) methodology would also be highly advantageous.
Minimum and desirable:
Desirable - Prince2 Foundation or Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt certification
Desirable - BCS (ISEB) Diploma in Business Analysis
Minimum - BCS certificate in 'Business Analysis Practice'
Minimum - BCS certificate in 'Modelling Business Processes'
