Location: Doncaster (with travel)

The Group's companies manufacture quality products for use in human and animal foodstuffs, agriculture, aquaculture, and industrial applications. The company has a UK annual turnover approaching £280 million and employs around 1,000 people at 23 sites across the country.
The Position
As a Divisional Transport Manager your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the Transport requirements but will include:
- Managing multiple transport operations including Doncaster, Widnes and Nottingham, including drivers, planners and administration staff to achieve and deliver KPI's
- Keeping in contact with customers, ensuring any queries are dealt with efficiently and effectively
- Actively communicate the strategy of the company clearly to all personnel that you are responsible for, setting realistic objectives and timeframes.
- Ensuring a smooth and seamless running of the transport operation including compliance of the vehicle wash
- Co-ordinating the team to ensure maximum logistical use of the transport staff, 3pl operators and owner drivers
- Proactively seek solutions to operational problems, identifying solutions and implementing where required
- Ensure the driving team operate in the correct manner including SAFED training and comply to the transport Fleet board standards
- Ensuring any queries/briefings relating to drivers are dealt with in a timely and precise manner
- Ensure vehicles are available to the correct standard and taking action when needed with contractors/on site garage
- Ensuring total compliance of departmental Driving Regulations, Working Time Directive, Agency Worker Regulations; taking action when needed
- An analytical approach to prepare detailed daily reports
- Support the Group Logistics Manager in budget preparation and compliance
The Person
- CPC holder with an excellent knowledge of the latest Transport Legislation
- An approachable and effective People Manager
- Fully converse in all Microsoft solutions to a professional standard
- Strong H & S awareness
- A team player who is also able to work on own initiative
- Highly focused on cost and budgetary controls
- Previous managerial experience within a fast paced Transport function ideally FMCG
- Innovative approach, forward thinking, able to generate new opportunities for improvement
£40,000 per annum, including fully expensed company car.
