Milton Keynes College are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Workplace Trainer/ Assessor who is driven to achieve outstanding results for learners.

The role of a Workplace Trainer/ Assessor will be training and assessing Apprentices in the workplace who are studying for Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeships within IT, Software, Web and Telecoms. Apprentices studying within this field are based within the IT based businesses and IT departments within schools, hospitals and food manufacturing.

You will be building positive and collaborative relationships with employers to ensure that Apprentices are receiving the best learning experience possible. As a key contact for the leaners you will have an inspirational and motivational personality, and be able to raise the aspirations of your learners. You will be able to positively embrace the vision of improving English & Maths and value equality & diversity.

As the successful candidate for the position of Workplace Trainer: IT, Software, Web & Telecoms you will possess the following essential knowledge, skills and experience;

  • Qualified to level 4 or above in IT/telecoms
  • Have strong vocational experience and/or occupational competence in the subjects taught and assessed
  • Experience of designing and delivering workplace skills and knowledge training sessions
  • Assess/train creatively, adapting to the needs of a variety of students and be willing to explore new learning strategies
  • Computer literate, to level 2, and willing to improve their IT skills
  • Good English and maths skills, to level 2, and be willing to continuously improve these

In addition to these skills, you may also possess the following qualifications and experience;

  • Teaching qualification or working towards
  • Assessor/IQA qualification or willing to work towards
  • Qualified to Cisco Instructor level
  • Health & Safety qualification, IOSH or equivalent
  • Experience of assessing Apprenticeships and standalone QCF NVQs

Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum

Salary: Circa GBP35,000 per annum

Location: Milton Keynes (and travel to local workplaces)
