Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK and numbers are set to rise to over 1 million by 2025.
The Limes Day Support service provides care and support for people with young onset dementia during the day in a safe and comfortable environment. This service gives users an opportunity to meet and mix with others, stimulation through social contact and meaningful activities, and an opportunity to pursue personal hobbies and social activities.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our team providing a Day Support service to people with dementia. You will be required to take responsibility for a caseload of clients; contributing to the development of individual care plans; making appropriate risk assessments; working to complete them and helping people with dementia to achieve their potential and maximise their skills.
We are looking for an individual with experience within a care environment and an understanding of the needs of people with dementia and their carers. You'll need to be someone who knows how to get the best out of people and be able to devise and lead meaningful activities in our Day Support Service for people with dementia. You will need to be able to work well as a team and be passionate about improving the quality of life for people living with dementia.
If you have the qualities we're looking for and are passionate about improving the quality of life for people with dementia you will quickly establish yourself as a valued member of our team.
Please note: The Limes is open from 8am to 6pm and Support Workers work a shift pattern across the day - 8am to 1.30pm, 10.30 to 4pm and 12.30 to 6pm, and these shifts rotate. This particular role is for Tuesdays, Wednesday and Fridays
Alzheimer's Society is committed to equal opportunities.
