** Candidates must have at least 5 years Jewellery buying experience, ideally for a Jeweller rather than a general fashion retailer

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Jewellery Buyer to join an exciting new retailer. This is an exciting role for someone who is looking to progress their career and be accountable for their own area. As a Buyer, you would be responsible for product selections and sign off. If you want a role that is fashion focused with opportunities to develop your management skills, then this is the job for you.
You will provide creative and administrative support to the MD in developing product ranges to meet sales, margin and stock targets within the jewellery product/category area.
You will collate and present product information, sales information, trend packs as appropriate, including the preparation for strategy meetings. You will Produce Range Review packs, undertake Market Reports and Competitor Shopping analysis and bring suggestions of new ideas/products to the team. This role will give you the opportunity to work with the Marketing department and the QA team as part of critical path management to ensure products arrive in a timely manner for airtime.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for Supplier queries as well as internal departments such as Planning, Warehouse and Marketing; we therefore will require you to have strong communication and relationship building skills.
Candidates should have administrative experience within a head office buying environment, ideally at Buyer level. It is essential for the successful candidate to have a good understanding and experience of managing a critical path and of buying a product range. Trend awareness with a passion for product and an understanding of the retail buying function are both key. Good PC skills are necessary for this role, especially Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong presentation skills are important.
The right candidate for this role will be a self-starter with a positive and enthusiastic approach to work. The ability to work within tight deadlines and manage your own workload within a fast paced and 'live' commercial environment is essential. Due to the pace of the environment, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail is also essential!
