BTO Consultant will work with the customer and internal teams to understand and implement a repeatable and efficient build deployment process that enables the Hatfield operations team to meet service delivery requirements

The greatest strength of a BTO consultant within the Technology Group is to have a wide range of experience and knowledge in many different areas. You will differ from other consultants in being less focussed on one special area of technology and being comfortable with many. This allows them to be able to meet many requirements most of the time, but also to recognise when to pass work to more specialised areas serviced within Computacenter.

Main Responsibilities

Some of your Key Responsibilities will include

  • Build Deployment Implementation/Device Pre-Configuration

To be available to work with the customer (internal and external) and sales account teams, in determining their configuration requirements which could be technical and non-technical

Following the agreed build take on processes, be the point of contact for build deployment testing.

Produce clear work instructions

Effective use of available vendor and industry standard software tools

Be available to support and troubleshoot issues

  • Communication and Reporting

To attend meetings to define and develop customers' requirements so that work can be correctly scoped and a suitable solution can be proposed at a commercially acceptable cost to the customer and sales account team.

Maintain a record of work in progress

Work as part of a team sharing relevant information

Presentation of reports and solutions at all levels within an organisation, in both written and verbal forms.

  • Development/Training

Ongoing agreed training to maintain knowledge of hardware and software products relating to system or device configuration requirements

Ideal Candidate

What we are looking for is a proven experience of working on pre-configuration/staging of PC systems, servers and Cisco network devices, knowledge of Microsoft SCCM for deployment of task sequence, Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 7,Basic Cisco network configurations, ability to use scripting tools and good hardware knowledge

We also need good Interpersonal and professional skills; such as creation of controlled working instructions, ability to work to tight timescales, ability to lead a team to resolve issues, able to attend and lead meetings, present on service criteria and deliverables effectively to customers (internal and external).
