An exciting opportunity has arisen with Cumbria County Council for a Senior Manager to work within the Business Services team, in Carlisle, leading implementation of service objectives and driving performance. Better use of technology is a key platform and major driver of change for the Council, with our Senior Manager earning £65,000 per annum.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and delivering a robust, reliable and professional ICT and Records Management Service which meets the needs of all our stakeholders. It’s an exciting and challenging time to join the team, with the post-holder contributing to the development of a new ICT strategy - driving innovation whilst efficiently managing service delivery.

You will support and continuously improve the service area, focusing on providing high quality, easily accessible technology services to our customers and communities - understanding and meeting customer needs in order to improve end user satisfaction.

The Senior Manager will be responsible for all aspects of ICT delivery, including staffing, operational and financial management, and the provision of a robust, secure and reliable ICT infrastructure, systems and equipment. They will contribute to the development of an ICT strategy and partnership working, including management of a range of technology based projects. The Senior Manager will be responsible for leading various teams and functions within the service area, working with colleagues across the Council, as well as external organisations, to further develop the range of functions being delivered. They will provide and quality assure the delivery of the service in accordance with agreed service level standards, focusing on value for money and provision of excellent services to the customer.

Our Senior Manager will interpret service demands and pressures ensuring service delivery take full account of service and end user need. This will be done whilst ensuring that service teams engage fully to embed our values and behaviour-encouraging a “one team” culture.

Through contributing to the development and management of processes, our Senior Manager will ensure outcomes meet corporate objectives and key performance indicators whilst remaining responsive to customer feedback and service needs. Working with a range of partners, including District Councils and Health organisations, you will put in place appropriate systems to ensure Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, whilst any other duties as may be determined from time to time.

Our successful candidate will have substantial management experience at a senior level in a large complex organisation. They will have a proven track record in delivering efficiencies and ensuring value for money services and evidence of managing the delivery of a complex cost-effective and efficient ICT and information service.
