Administrator (Housing, Welfare, Care) BLUC41170

Liverpool

Salary £15,000.00 per annum

In its early years, our client provided services for just a small number of vulnerable adults, but now as they approach their 18th year of work in the social care sector, they have grown into a well-established and successful organisation.

They are now looking for a Welfare & Benefits Administrator to join them in Liverpool to provide practical assistance to their service users in completing and submitting all applications relating to welfare benefits, Housing Benefit and to assist the team to develop, review and implement systems to process and monitor all data relating to such claims.

Within the role you will be pro-active and reactive in maintaining the claims for Housing Benefit, UC, JSA, ESA, DLA and PIP in respect of individual service users, establishing and maintaining good working relationships and liaising with the benefit administering agencies, local authorities and the voluntary sector on behalf of service users.  You will undertake financial assessments for service users, ensuring that they are aware of their appropriate welfare benefits and develop and produce appropriate literature and materials in plain English appropriate to the changing needs of service users.

The successful candidate will be educated to A-level standard (or equivalent) and will ideally possess a Degree (or equivalent NVQ Level 5 or above).

Although not essential, a nationally recognised computer qualification (e.g. NVQ, ECDL, ITQ) preferably to Level 3 standard would be beneficial, coupled with an excellent knowledge, understanding and application of Microsoft Office (Access, Excel and Word).

In addition, you will be able to develop a creative approach to continuous improvement and will have the ability to work in an open and honest manner in line with organisational values.  You will also be able to anticipate and identify problems and find solutions, making informed decisions and judgements and display self-motivation, initiative and commitment.

You must hold a full UK Driving License to be considered for this role.
