An exciting opportunity has arisen with Cumbria County Council for an exceptional Senior Manager-Digital Strategy and Service Centre to work within the Business Services team, in Carlisle, managing the implementation of the Council’s Digital Strategy and Service Centre and earning £65,000 per annum.

The Council has recently developed a Digital Strategy designed to underpin fundamental changes to the way in which we deliver our services. Our Senior Manager will accelerate the delivery of the Strategy and manage our Service Centre - supporting and continuously improving it through focusing on providing high quality, easily accessible information and advice to our customers and communities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the supporting Action Plan is delivered on time and in budget, liaising with stakeholders across the organisation to foster a “one council” approach. You will lead the development and operation of the service centre, staying abreast of new practices and technologies, ensuring that it gains and maintain recognition for the quality of customer service and efficiency.

Our Senior Manager will manage and motivate staff within the service area, including senior management of a full range of transactional and customer facing functions, whilst also working with colleagues to further develop the range of functions to be delivered by the Centre.

Interpreting service demands and pressures, you will ensure service delivery take full account of service and end user needs. This will be done whilst ensuring that service teams engage fully to embed our values and behaviour-encouraging a “one team” culture.

Our Senior Manager will demonstrate knowledge of the development and delivery of digital strategies and a thorough understanding and implementation experience of service centres and contact centre technology to improve the customer experience

Our successful candidate will have substantial management experience at a senior level in a large complex organisation. They will have a proven track record in delivering efficiencies and ensuring value for money services and demonstrable evidence of managing significant change in service delivery.
