An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Manager to join Kingdom Security in the recently expanded Commercial team based in either Bedfordshire / Buckinghamshire (negotiable).

Kingdom Security was formed in 1993 and operating nationally, Kingdom has become one of the largest privately owned companies in the UK within our areas of service expertise.  Kingdom has all the power of a national organisation you would expect but we support our service provision from our network of regional support offices.

This is a newly created role involving hands-on preparation of business commercial data which will demonstrate financial performance across all Client contracts.

This role is a key part of the new Commercial Department.  This is a highly visible and demanding role which needs a both an analytical mind and an approachable presence

The commercial department is the warden of the profitability of all contracts, but also a support function which will create solutions not roadblocks.  The Commercial department will expand to cover a wider commercial remit in the near future and a willingness to bring fresh ideas and offer continuous improvement and added value is essential.  You must demonstrate strong numeracy but also a good understanding of contract workings, operational systems, and delivering Customer satisfaction.   

As a Commercial Manager your duties and responsibilities will be:

  • P&L preparation for each Contract.
  • Analysis of variances to costed contract budgets for hours / pay / charge / additional spend.
  • Monitoring of trends.
  • Preparation of reports for use at Executive Board level
  • Compilation of contract costings for all Key Account Customers, both new and existing.
  • Explanation and negotiation with Customers of commercial facts, both face to face and by email / phone.
  • Interaction with all Kingdom stakeholders to support robust commercial decisions.
  • Involvement in development of software solutions to provide accurate, relevant commercial data.

An ideal Commercial Manager will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Highly numerate.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel.
  • Strong understanding of margins, including experience of working on a cost plus basis to provide pricing for products or services.
  • A hands-on approach to workload with a real desire to produce accurate, timely outputs.
  • A team player who understands personal ownership and team responsibility.
  • An engaging and pleasant manner, demonstrating a positive and supportive approach to both internal and external Customers.
  • An enquiring mind, always prepared to delve further to get full facts before presenting a solution / commercial output

Your working hours will be 37.5 hours per week but some flexibility required (essentially Monday – Friday).

In return for this you will receive a salary of £30,000 - £35,000 per annum depending on experience.
