We are looking to recruit two Support Needs Mentors to support the Springboard programme which is aimed at providing a flexible and individualised programme within a dedicated and safe learning environment for young people aged 14-16 with SEND.
Please note this is a permanent role working 37 hours per week on a term time only basis for 36 weeks per year.

Summary of Responsibilities
To support the Springboard programme which is aimed at providing a flexible and individualised programme within a dedicated and safe learning environment for young people aged 14-16 with SEND
Main Duties
NB. The specific duties of each will be dependent upon the requirements of the students and as such a flexible approach is required.
- To supervise the arrival to, and departure from, the College of Springboard students and deal effectively with any transport problems that may arise
- To liaise directly with Springboard tutors to ensure a full understanding of the learning requirements, supporting both retention and achievement
- To adapt learning resources and operate learning aids.
- To promote and facilitate inclusive practices.
- To attend regular team meetings
- To contribute towards forward planning taking into account the progression needs of Springboard students, to include taster sessions, meeting curriculum tutors, guidance interviews and advocating with potential employers
- To represent the College at internal and external events as and when required by the ALS Coordinator and/or Head of Student Support Services.
- To be available for college enrolment and induction as required.
- Provide assignment support and additional study skills support
- Keep records on all areas of support, ensuring that it is recorded and monitored through ProMonitor.
Other Duties
- The post holder will be required to encompass the use of information and learning technology (ILT) as appropriate to his/her level of responsibility
- Comply with, and implement as appropriate all College policies and procedures, with particular reference to Equal Opportunities, Quality, Health and Safety, safeguarding and Prevent
- Take part in the College staff development programme
- Undertake such other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably required by your line manager within the level and grading of the post, working flexibly across other areas of the department/division and College as required.
