Job Title: All Round Product Design Assistant

Location: South Reading

Salary: circa £22,000 (depending on experience)

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent role with 22 days holiday pro rata, plus public and bank holidays.

Hours: Mon-Fri within usual office hours -exact timing to be negotiated

Job Role:

Due to the expansion and restructuring of a market leader in the outdoor furniture industry, an opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Design Assistant / Product Innovator to join their close-knit CAD team.

The role will be to assist the design team in developing exterior furniture, play equipment and a range of outdoor design solutions for residential, educational and commercial markets.

Producing presentations for the sales team using accurate 2D spatial scale layouts and 3D visualisations and artistic renders is a significant part of the role. This will often involve costing and designing bespoke items as customer request in addition, to graphic design and marketing presentations.

In addition, a wide range of duties such as general IT assistance, purchasing of stock items, calculating ground areas, updating records/drawings, photography and retouching photographs, graphic and brochure design and CNC programming are other essential duties.

The candidate should have experience using the following software:

• AutoCAD
• Autodesk Inventor
• 3D Studio MAX
• Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Product Design or equivalent, possess excellent communication skills, be hard working, professional and able to work well under pressure. High levels of accuracy and attention to detail are required. They are a growing company and the role would be well suited to a self-motivated individual who is keen to progress and learn new skills, with a flexible attitude. CNC experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
