Location: Surrey
Salary: £30000 per annum
Job Type: 12 month CONTRACT

The client is an international commercial insurance company who is currently seeking to add a Bodily Injury Claims Adjuster (Motor) to their motor injury team based in Surrey.
Please note this is a 12 month maternity cover contract.

Key duties will include as follows:

* The successful candidate will be responsible for a caseload of third party injury claims
* Supporting the Claims Manager to provide a cost effective, customer focused claims service.
* Service Delivery - Handle, investigate and close all motor claims that have been allocated in accordance with agreed internal service levels, best practice requirements and against policy terms and conditions aligning with the total and/or partial resolution of Third Party needs.
* Take pro-active steps to effectively deal with claimants and their Solicitors in order to best achieve overall business objectives.
* Contribute to ensuring the Unit's Key Performance Targets are met and that own objectives are achieved.
* Ensure that all allocated work is handled within the Key Performance Targets of the Motor Department
* Promote compliance with best practice for all aspects of claims assessment across the motor department and be aware of bespoke practices for specified clients
* To follow agreed internal and external processes, policies and procedures to ensure quality and service standards are met and leakage minimised.
* Technical - Working knowledge of Personal Injury claims handling inclusive of pre-action Protocols, claims and litigation procedures, products and services.
* Collaborate - Build relationships with internal and external customers including OSPs, Brokers, Clients and Claimants with the intention of enhancing the reputation of us as a first class motor claims service provider.
* Work as part of a team and support colleagues so that overall team effectiveness is advanced.
* Culture - Take personal responsibility for promoting a 'can-do' attitude and demonstrating a pro-active claims handling service.
* Self Development - Take ownership of learning and developmental needs to ensure effective performance.
* Governance Framework - Taking personal and collective responsibility to ensure compliance with the Legal & Regulatory framework within which motor claims handling sits. This is to include, but not limited to, carrying out all accountabilities
and objectives within the framework of the policy; ensuring FSA & DPA compliance; being aware of the implications of POCA and the Terrorism Act and the MOJ reforms.
* To continually build upon knowledge of effective fraud screening processes and take the necessary steps thereafter to refer or deal with such cases that potentially involve a fraudulent aspect.

Essential experience and skill set for this role:

* Proven experience handling and settling third party motor injury claims (2+ years experience)
* Strong commercial awareness within the motor insurance claims market
* Experience working on commercial motor claims
* Strong negotiation skills with the ability to make decisions under-pressure
* Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance controls within insurance
* CII Cert preferred but not essential
* A strong team player able to work in an environment of sharing workloads, advice and experience
