The Role
- Checking, repairing, and maintaining valves and machine controls, working to a planned preventative maintenance programme.
- Changing of tool dies also to scheduled plan.
- Machine maintenance and servicing checks.
- Responsible for cleanliness and tidiness of the manufacturing area.
- Stock control of all necessary spares and equipment to ensure they are available and ordered for machine and valve overhaul programme.
The Individual
- Ideally the appointee should have completed a time served apprenticeship, City and Guilds, or equivalent, but relevant experience and a willingness to learn is equally important.
- The individual will ideally have good hydraulic and pneumatic systems knowledge, and previous experience in lean manufacturing environments is a plus.
- A self-motivated person who is equally happy working both independently, and as part of a team, and who is continually looking for opportunities for improvements in the workplace.
