And with ever growing student numbers, it's important for an expansion in our infrastructure and cherished buildings and landscapes. Transforming the lives of our socially engaged global students starts with making sure that our people, people like you, are engaged, empowered and feel valued for the hard work they do. And that's where you come in.

Based within the Careers & Employability Department, the Placements Administrator works as part of a dynamic, friendly, multi-skilled team which delivers services such as a university-wide placements programme, mentoring schemes, student Jobshop, enterprise and employer liaison, and careers information and guidance.

Working closely alongside the Placements Manager and Placements Coordinator, the Placements Administrator delivers a range of high quality support services that ensure the effective and efficient running of the University's placements programmes. This includes support for curricular modules and sandwich years as well as part-funded internship schemes run by the University.

The role holder can expect to develop and maintain records and administrative systems, build effective working relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders, and provide placements administration support.

Additionally, the role involves events administration activities such as email promotion, booking and attendance systems, and updating our online database to ensure up-to-date statistical information.

As an experienced administrator, you will have excellent organisational skills to keep accurate and up-to-date records relating to curricular and extra-curricular placements. Able to cope with sustained periods of pressure, you will be motivated and have a flexible ‘can-do' attitutude. With excellent IT skills, particularly experience of maintaining and developing databases, you will also have proven expertise in data handling and analysis.

You will be confident in speaking with employers, colleagues and students over the telephone and by email to answer queries and escalate as appropriate. You will be highly proficient in a wide range of customer service activities and have the ability to maintain effective working relationships with people at all levels. Good communication skills and a hard-working approach are essential.
