CAD Draughtsperson / Design Engineer / CAD Engineer

Job Title: Production CAD Draughtsperson / Draughtsman / Draughtswoman

Location: Ashton (Bristol) BS3

Salary: £27,000 to £34,000 per Annum

Position: Permanent, Full Time 37.5 hrs - Monday-Friday 08:30 am - 4:30 pm

The company is an established ISO 9001 manufacturer of metal fabricated products specialising in street furniture, operating from our own factory on Ashton Vale Trading Estate, South Bristol.

Job Role:

Due to increasing company growth and demand for the company's products an opportunity has arisen for a draughtsperson to join their small friendly manufacturing team.

This important role will entail full responsibility for the drawing and design work of both current and future products, including support for the sales department with pricing.

Working closely with the business development manager, workshop team and managing director.

Key Responsibilities:

• The creation of detailed technical drawings for the manufacture of the company's products and to include materials required for production.
• Incorporating customer specific requirements into product designs.
• The production of specification drawings for customer approval.
• Lasers profiles to be drawn for sub-contracting out and filed.
• Customer orders to be scheduled and issued to the workshop to ensure correct order of manufacture to meet the required delivery date.
• Working to the company's ISO 9001 quality standard and maintaining the drawings to the correct issue states and assisting our works manager with both internal and external audits.
• To answer technical questions from both customers and the works team.
• Other tasks may evolve over time in our ever-changing working environment.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Solid engineering technical background with at least 5 years CAD experience producing, manufacturing and design drawings for both mild and stainless steel products
• Experience with AutoCAD 2D, AutoCAD Inventor or Solidworks as an alternative. Photoshop experience would be an advantage
• The candidate must have the ability to work to tight deadlines with minimum supervision. Strong problem solving skills and a positive attitude are required
• Good knowledge of engineering materials including stainless steel
• All round, general computer skills
• Evidence of competence in operating CAD systems will be requested at the interview stage
