The Role

The Associate Director will manage a team to deliver a range of geo-environmental / geo-technical projects for clients, providing commercial guidance, project management supervision and technical excellence to clients and all project stakeholders. With responsibility for delivery of geo-environmental / geotechnical services (and cross-selling to other disciplines) you will play a major role in the strategic direction of the business. The priorities of the role include:

  • overseeing geo-environmental / geotechnical projects, ensuring quality / client satisfaction
  • engaging with key target clients / identifying bid opportunities / business development /
  • liaison with professional institutions / client bodies / attending industry events
  • technical reviews and coaching / mentoring junior staff
  • commercial accountability including submission of proposals / bids / tenders etc.

The Person

The ideal Associate Director will have a qualification ( BSc / MSc / PhD ) in Geology / Geo-environmental Science / Geotechnical Engineering (or similar). You will be familiar with the consulting / contracting sector with a good understanding of the UK development market and able to demonstrate the following:

  • commercial success / team development / commercial and project management skills
  • multidisciplinary awareness for due-diligence / planning / construction project phases
  • strong verbal / written / presentational / communication abilities
  • commitment to their own professional / personal development
  • experience / understanding of resourcing / people management and financial control
