We are recruiting Care & Support worker in Independent Supported Living Houses

Dementia Care is a registered charity and has provided services for people with dementia and their carers for over 20 years. We offer 24-hour care in people’s homes, respite care, dementia-designed specialist day services at our centres in Newcastle upon Tyne and Hexham and care in our independent supported living housing. As a care provider, we are regulated by the Care Quality Commission and are rated as Good overall and Outstanding for being a Well-Led Organisation.

We are growing rapidly and this will continue as we expand our services and support more people with dementia. We have vacancies for Care & Support Workers across all of our services.

Independent Supported Living Houses
40 hour contracts @ £7.50 per hour
Day and night shifts available
Our small group, independent supported living model of care is unique for people with dementia. Four or five people live together within a ‘family’ atmosphere, supported by our trained and dedicated staff in a safe and homely environment.
We operate 12 hour shift patterns 8.00am-8.00pm (day shift) and 8.00pm-8.00am (night shift). If you enjoy providing care to people, with an ability to build positive relationships with local care services and family members, and if you have a keen eye for maintaining high levels of hygiene and cleanliness please contact us.

Aside from competitive rates of pay, we also offer Guaranteed Hours, fully paid training including NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care and specialist dementia qualifications in association with the University of Stirling, plus paid DBS, NEST pension scheme, childcare vouchers and paid mileage and travel time.

If you are interested in working day shifts within either Respite or our Independent Supported Living Houses, we would still love to hear from you! Please complete an application form, specifying your preferences and if shortlisted, we will interview with a view to contacting you as and when we have availability to meet your requirements.

Please visit our website where you will be able to download a job description and application form by the apply button on this page.
