Dementia Care is a registered charity and has provided services for people with dementia and their carers for over 20 years. We offer 24-hour care in people’s homes, respite care, dementia-designed specialist day services at our centres in Newcastle upon Tyne and Hexham and care in our independent supported living housing. As a care provider, we are regulated by the Care Quality Commission and are rated as Good overall and Outstanding for being a Well-Led Organisation.
We are growing rapidly and this will continue as we expand our services and support more people with dementia. We have vacancies for Care & Support Workers across all of our services.
Home Support
40 hour contracts @ £7.80 per hour
Our support is tailored to each person’s individual needs. Call times range from 30 minutes to 24 hour support on a one to one basis.
Our busiest times are:
7.30am-10.30am, 12.00pm-1.30pm and 4.00pm-9.00pm.
Shifts work on a 2 week rotation basis of approx. 30 hours in ‘Week 1’ and 50 hours in ‘Week 2’. If you are flexible, preferably a car driver, able to work every other weekend and enjoy being out and about and supporting people in a community setting, this is the perfect job for you!
Aside from competitive rates of pay, we also offer Guaranteed Hours, fully paid training including NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care and specialist dementia qualifications in association with the University of Stirling, plus paid DBS, NEST pension scheme, childcare vouchers and paid mileage and travel time.
