Colour Laboratory Technician

We are a manufacturing company in Wallsend offering a permanent position for a methodical Laboratory Technician with a high level of competency.

Your primary place of work will be in the lab dealing with pigments, resins and fillers but will crucially liaise with the production staff on regular basis. You will also be required to carry out some administrative duties related to your job explained as follows

• Carry out routine as well as innovative laboratory work to support sales of new products
• Working with pigments, polymers and filler, you will be required to match customer colours regularly
• Time to time evaluate the performance of materials in our processes
• Deal with new customer enquiries

Essential attributes for this position:

• At least four GCSEs, two of which must be in maths and a science subject
• The ability to improve your knowledge of polymer technology
• A competent Excel and Word user
• Excellent colour sense
• No allergies to chemicals or chemical odour and no respiration problems
• Previous laboratory experience and/or experience working in the pigment/paint industry is the key

Salary £16k – 19k depending on level of skills.
