You will provide a comprehensive in-house electronic consultancy service to academic and research staff facilitating prestigious and highly complex research projects within the Department of Engineering.

You will provide the highest level of electronic engineering design expertise and provide electronic technical advice and consultancy to academic, technical assistant staff and students to promote excellence in teaching and research activities, including associated systems, control and software engineering. 

You will provide safety related technical advice to ensure that relevant Department activities conform to recognised safety guidelines and standards.

You will contribute to teaching within the Department including some course development and innovation, lecturing, conducting seminars and supervision either undergraduates and/or graduate students. You will participate in the overall research and teaching contributions of the Department.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in, or with, industry, preferably in a multi-disciplinary design & development or manufacturing environment.  You will have experience of project planning and management, and equipment procurement, within an electronic / engineering / industrial environment.  You will have experience of working with technicians and students, in particular in one-to-one/small group situations.

You will be educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline and likely to be a Chartered Engineer.
