They have recently secured investment from the European Social Fund (ESF) and Big Lottery Fund (BLF) to lead an exciting & ambitious programme. The Programme; Building Better Opportunities - Sheffield City Region (BBO SCR) is an integrated, person-centred employment service for people with physical and mental health conditions, learning disabilities and complex needs. It’s based on Individual Placement Support, a “place then train” approach that’s shown to be twice as effective as traditional approaches.

The programme is to be delivered over a two-year period and will involve working with voluntary, community and private sector organisations in delivering objectives that have been set within their vision & strategy. The post holder will:

• Facilitate the delivery of the Peer Ambassador project. The project has specific functions to co-deliver peer led training to employers to increase their ability to support individuals with complex needs in the work place and to provide support and guidance to potential, current and past customers of BBO.
• Recruit, train, manage and develop volunteers who have experience of being economically inactive and unemployed to deliver the Peer Ambassador project
• Plan and coordinate the volunteer resources on the Peer Ambassadors project
• Make specific links with employers across the city region to communicate the issues and barriers identified by disadvantaged economically inactive and unemployed people.

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday
