Who we are looking for
We have an opportunity for a Senior Support Worker to join us supporting one gentleman out in the community, as well in his own home. You’ll help him cook, clean, pay bills, apply for jobs, make friends and a thousand things in between. Because we are all different, your role as a Senior Support Worker will be varied - what you do and how you do it will depend on the needs of the individuals you are supporting. You will have the opportunity to get involved in the leadership of the service, helping to organise rotas, maintain records and supervise colleagues.
To be a great Senior Support Worker, you will need to have some previous experience in social care. You will know that you need compassion, integrity and to treat people with dignity and respect. You need to be reliable because people are depending on you, be able to travel between locations and work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and overnight as needed. You also need to be a great communicator, both verbally and in writing and have IT and numerical skills. Ultimately this gentleman needs you to help facilitate his active and fun life and to lead and support the team to achieve the same.
