Job Title: Research Editor / Writer

Location: Macclesfield

Salary: £18-£20k depending on qualifications and experience

A great opportunity has arisen for the successful candidate to join our client's team as a Research Editor. They are a recently established, growing business with an excellent reputation in the education sector. This role is to work within the customer service team and the job is primarily to liaise directly with the customer base and to respond to their 'Need Further Help' enquiries by the agreed deadlines. It involves researching content, drafting responses and providing advice and support to the ever-growing customer base.

As part of the team, your responsibility is also to peer review work from the rest of the editorial team to ensure the quality of the site remains high. You are expected to stay up-to-date with the education sector and build strong relationships with the customers to obtain valuable feedback to enable continual improvement of the site.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

  • To liaise with the customer base and draft responses to their 'Need Further Help' enquiries in a professional manner
  • To write content that is accurate, well written and relevant, based on the knowledge and expertise of the company and contributors
  • To review the content of previously answered requests to ensure it is coherent, consistent, compelling and professional; meeting subscribers' needs
  • To obtain feedback from users of the website and to analyse this information to enable continual improvement of the site
  • To suggest ways of maximising user engagement with the site
  • To actively promote the company's policies and procedures, particularly Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, Dignity at Work and Equality, and to be accountable for the implementation of new/amended policies and procedures as and when required

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • 6 months' experience of copywriting in a commercial environment, liaising with third parties to obtain information/documentation
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills
  • Great attention to detail and concern for quality
  • Excellent English language skills -including spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • Pleasant and clear telephone manner
  • High level of consistency
  • Ability to work in a team and with minimal supervision in an open plan office
  • Resilience and the ability to deal with conflict in a professional, objective and calm manner
