Job Title: Clerk to the Corporation
Location: Dunstable, Bedfordshire
Salary: £40,000 per annum (£24,000 pro rata)
Hours: Part-Time
The clerk is the constitutional conscience of the governing body.
The main purpose of the role is to provide advice to the governing body on governance, constitutional and procedural matters, and act as officer of the Corporation with a central role to perform when promoting the effective governance of the Corporation.
The clerk is responsible to the Corporation for ensuring that their proceedings are conducted in accordance with the provisions of the statutory Instrument and Articles of Government, the financial regulations and financial procedures of the College and general law.
The responsibilities will fall under the main headings below:
- Provision of advice on the role, function and constitution of the corporation and its committees
- To organize the proper conduct of the corporation and committee meetings
- To ensure that all appointments to the corporation have been validly made
- Maintaining registers of members, rules, and appropriate copies of statutory documents are made available for public inspection
