Delivery Driver - Multi Drop

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multi Drop Deliver Driver to join Direct Seafoods Colchester based in Colchester.

Direct Seafoods Colchester forms part of the Bidcorp Group, which is Britain’s largest fresh fish supplier to the catering industry; a national supplier with strong local heritage.  Our regional depots are run by the best men and women in the business; fish mongers with the finest artisanal skills and expertise.

As a Multi Drop Deliver Driver your duties and responsibilities will be:

• Transportation and delivery of quality seafood to restaurants and hotels
• Accepting payments and adhering to strict cash handling procedures
• Monitoring temperatures and quality of produce
• Completing / processing paperwork such as daily manifests and goods return slips
• Manual handling i.e. loading and unloading of goods
• Carrying out vehicle checks and ensuring the van is kept clean, tidy and ready for inspection at any given time
• Complying with legislative requirements and company policies and procedures
• Ability to understand and follow directions / instructions

An ideal Multi Drop Delivery Driver will have the following skills and qualifications

• Of smart appearance and professional in  manner
• Possess a personable approach with customers and colleagues alike
• Able to demonstrate  a 'can do' attitude
• Good verbal and written skills essential
• Able to work well on your own, must be enthusiastic and self- motivated
• Clean, valid driving license essential, we will accept a maximum of three points
• Responsible and reliable with excellent time keeping skills
• Good general geographical knowledge of the UK would be an advantage

• Basic numeracy skills i.e. for cash handling purposes
• All candidates will have previous multi-drop experience and may be subject to a driver check

In line with our insurance policy all applicants should ideally be 21 or over in order to comply with the Company’s insurance requirements.

On average, your hours of work will be approximately 60 hours per week, Monday to Saturday (overtime on Saturday is double time). Our routes change on a daily basis therefore your start and finish times will change in order to accommodate such, however, in general you will commence at a time between 2am and 6am until all drops have been completed

In return for this you will receive a salary of £23,000 to £28,000 per annum, dependent upon hours and overtime worked.  Annual holiday entitlement of 32 days including bank holidays (pro-rata)
