Site Service Engineer / Maintenance Engineer
SALARY: £28,000 - £33,000 (depending on experience), profit share, pension, healthcare, 25 day’s holiday.
LOCATION: Based in the field but with occasional visits to the design and manufacturing facilities in Horsham, West Sussex, you should ideally live in the Surrey/Sussex area, with easy access to the M3 / M25 / M4 motorways to cover South West London and the Southern Home Counties.
As the leading supplier of Waste Water Odour Control Systems for the UK Water Industry, they count all of the UK water companies and major main contractors among their clients, supplying everything from a large, multi-stage chemical scrubbing system or complete ‘DryCat’ systems, to environmentally friendly biofilters, bioscrubbers and dry media scrubbers.
In your role as Site Service & Maintenance Engineer, reporting to the Maintenance Operating Manager, you will be responsible for the successful servicing of process plant, instrumentation and equipment at clients’ sites around the South West London, South London, Surrey, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Sussex, Kent and Hampshire area and may be called upon to assist on other sites nationwide.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include the following:
- Carry out regular servicing of clients’ plants.
- Fault finding and providing accurate records on reporting system to enable remedial works.
- Carrying out regular basic tests using a variety of instrumentation.
- Taking over new plant installations from the project and commissioning team.
- Maintain, “repair lists” required for correction and managing the remedial work.
- Assist in commissioning tasks with the Engineering Department.
- Conduct client training when called upon.
Ideally qualified to HND / HNC level in a related engineering discipline, you will be an experienced Service Engineer / Maintenance Engineer with 3+ years experience servicing process plant and machinery, ideally in gas process plants.
Your key competencies, qualities and experience will include:
* Knowledge of the appropriate standards and codes of practice.
* The ability to exercise sound and sensible judgement with regards to engineering risk.
* Confidence to stand by health and safety judgments and not be pressured into compromises.
* The ability to follow through tasks to completion and take responsibility your own individual performance.
* Able to prioritise, organise and plan you work schedule.
* Capable of maintaining calm professionalism in the face of urgent client issues.
