The UK's leading and best-known food on the go retailer are currently looking to recruit a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to carry out preventative, routine and emergency maintenance work on machinery at their production facility in Manchester.

The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you would be responsible for ensuring all plant breakdowns are repaired as quickly and as effectively as possible. You would also be pro-active in developing ideas that would prevent the breakdowns occurring and would carry out a regular maintenance schedule, electrical repairs and modifications, ensuring machine downtime is minimised whilst repairs are carried out.

You will be working an average of 46 hours per week, rotating on a day shift / backshift / nightshift basis, to allow there to be engineering cover for the factory.

The Candidate
The ideal candidate for the role will be time-served, having worked an apprenticeship at the start of their career, and will be ONC qualified in a relevant electrical or engineering discipline, with experience of working in an FMCG environment. You will need experience of PLC's and Control drives and will have experience of working to planned maintenance schedules. Whilst multi-skilled experience would be highly desirable, electrical bias is essential.

Strong communication skills along with the ability to communicate at all levels will be required, as will excellent attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and manage a varied workload, plus the drive to consistently exceed targets and achieve results.
