More about the VMU Assistant role

AO Logistics require a mechanical/body assistant/improver, ideally with previous commercial vehicle experience. Be happy to work as part of a team and also work competently under pressure.

Here's what you can expect to be doing as our VMU Assistant

Repairing defective vehicles and trailers using the correct methods of repair. The fleet includes light commercial, HGV’s, conventional and double deck trailers. You will be required to have a can do attitude to completing work in a timely fashion.

What will I be expected to deliver as a VMU Assistant?

The successful applicant will hold a clean driving licence and come from a commercial vehicle / HGV trailer repair background. Essentially you must be capable of quality work standards and be highly efficient in producing it whilst maintaining attention to detail. Guidance and expertise available by the two qualified and experienced technicians.

Previous commercial vehicle repair experience an advantage

The ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative, have a thorough approach to your work along with attention to detail, and be courteous, honest and accountable at all times.

Full driving licence required

VMU Assistant Responsibilities

- To repair trailer curtains with rips and tears.

- To repair / replace damaged flooring on HGV trailers.

- 4 on 4 off shift patterns

- Flexibility to work overtime if required

- Capable of working unsupervised

- All repairs and part used must be recorded.

- Own hand tools if possible. Other larger tools/ equipment supplied.
