Bridge College is the Trust’s specialist education college for students aged 16 to 25 years with disabilities, complex needs and autism. The college promotes a multi-disciplinary approach to learning and has expertise in supporting students with a wide range of needs.

The college is now looking to appoint an Assistive Technologist to provide support on assistive technology, e-learning, e-safety and where required, mainstream IT. Working closely with the Occupational Therapy Team and the Speech and Language Team, you will also provide in-depth knowledge in the area of assistive technology and support assessments and programmes for individuals to have greater access to their environment.

They’re looking for an individual who has substantial experience of using assistive technology and who may have implemented this within a learning environment. With a good understanding of how assistive technology systems and devices work, you will be capable of designing person centred programmes and programme appropriate equipment.

With strong communication and negotiation skills and the ability to work across a diverse range of multi-disciplinary teams, you will work well on own initiative and be capable of solving problems and finding positive solutions. You will need to have previously worked with people with learning and physical disabilities and understand how assistive technology can benefit them.

So if you have a genuine passion and drive for assistive technology, they would love to hear from you!
