LOCATION: Edinburgh


JOB TITLE: Development Officer


SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP23k - GBP26k per annum.28 DAYS PAID HOLIDAY + 10 Public holidays, great company pension. Lunch provided.



WORKING HOURS: Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:00 with occasional evenings and weekends plus UK and overseas travel.

THE ROLE: Supporting the Director of Development you will play a key role in the administration of fundraising and engagement programmes. You will work within a busy development team, supporting the Director in forging and maintaining strong relationships in order to achieve Development targets.



Key Responsibilities to include:-
  • Day to day organisation and implementation of the School's fundraising strategies.
  • To attend and minute board and development department meetings.
  • To manage the fundraising CRM database, inputting constituent information, running of reports, gift recording and processing.
  • Maintain an accurate and productive prospect pipeline and stewardship programme.
  • Responsible for the practical management of regular/individual giving.
  • To manage the development / foundation section of the school's website and social media.
  • In depth research on individual prospects and charitable trusts.
  • Assist with the content and production of print materials and publications.
  • Process CAF, AFC, BSUF and Gift Aid claims and assist with tax reports.



THE CANDIDATE: We are seeking an individual keen to develop their skills in a creative and dynamic environment with excellent attention to detail and proof-reading skills. You will be able to manage a diverse workload, balancing competing demands and delivering under pressure.


Key experience essential for the role:

  • Experience within a membership organisation, or a charity within a fundraising capacity.


Key experience desirable for the role:

  • Experience of using a fundraising CRM database.
