Our client is a successful not-for-profit organisation with a strong commitment to the Sheffield City Region. A Sunday Times Best 100 Companies “one to watch” they are a forward thinking, innovative and ambitious organisation.

They have secured an investment from the Big Lottery Fund for the Age Better in Sheffield programme; an exciting & ambitious programme to reduce social isolation for people aged 50+ within targeted areas of Sheffield.

They’re looking for someone to coordinate the Access Ambassador project as part of the wider Age Better in Sheffield programme on a temporary 12 month contract.

Working with older people who have experienced social isolation to co-design and co-deliver an innovative project that addresses the key issues with transport and travel, you will provide support to volunteers aged 50+ who will co-deliver the project and make links with organisations in the statutory, voluntary, community, faith and private sector.

During their vision and strategy development, older people told them that access and transport options are a significant factor that cause social isolation.  With this in mind, you must also make specific links with transport providers across the city to communicate the issues and barriers identified by socially isolated older people and work with them to identify possible solutions to these issues.

With a strong commitment to helping to improve the lives of older people within the City of Sheffield and reduce social isolation, you should have experience of developing volunteer led projects and programmes which have been tailored to a range of different groups/individuals and a proven track record of a pro-active approach to problem solving.

A great understanding of innovative co-design and co-delivery is essential and you must bring a proactive, enthusiastic and energetic approach to the role and the intervention.  Self-motivated, you should also have a good knowledge of learning and development needs for volunteers which will include different learning opportunities outside of traditional learning options.

Closing Date:  Monday 3rd October 2016 - 12:00 noon
